According to the export declaration data of various customs areas in Taiwan provided by the Data Processing Office of the General Customs Administration of the Ministry of Finance, and according to the statistics of the Taiwan Machine Tool and Components Industry Association (TMBA), the total export of Taiwan machine tools from January to December 2019 was US$3.065 billion. This is down 16.1% from last year. Among them, the export of metal cutting machine tools decreased by 17.4% to US$2.539 billion, and the export of metal forming machine tools decreased by 9.7% to US$526 million. If compared with the previous month, the export value of machine tools in December 2019 increased by 1.7% compared to November 2019. Among them, the export of metal cutting machine tools decreased by 3%, and the export value of metal forming machine tools increased by 24.2%.

From January to December 2019, the main export models of metal cutting machine tools were integrated processing machines, with an export value of US$1.022 billion, a decrease of 26.1% from the same period last year; lathes ranked second, with an export value of US$621 million, compared with the same period last year.
